Barber wins Cadet Grand Aggregate
Saturday 17th July 2010, 2:29PM BST.
MAX BARBER, the young Elizabeth College marksman, has crowned his earlier Bisley success in the Iveagh competition by winning the Cadet Grand Aggregate.
He finished a clear two points ahead of his nearest rival from Epsom College.
Barber (pictured) also had the distinction of registering the highest individual score among the entire field of schools taking part in the Ashburton Shield competition over three ranges.
The Ashburton is fired under exactly the same conditions as the first stage of the Queen’s Prize.
If he can repeat his Ashburton score of 101 ex 105 with 11 central ‘V’ bullseyes when he takes part in the Queen’s next Wednesday, Barber would almost certainly advance to the second stage.
The College team’s score in the Ashburton won them the Eastern Wessex Army Challenge Trophy. In the Cadet Fours, they won bronze medals.
