Campaigners write to Queen over animal welfare law delay

Tuesday 20th July 2010, 2:29PM BST.

Sue Vidamour.JUSTICE SECRETARY Ken Clarke will look into the progress of Guernsey’s new animal welfare law after campaigners sent a letter to the Queen.

Promoting Animal Welfare (PAW) founder Sue Vidamour received the news in a reply from Buckingham Palace.

Her letter had expressed concerns about delays in introducing animal welfare legislation.

‘We’re delighted with her response,’ said Mrs Vidamour (pictured). ‘We wanted to bring it to Her Majesty’s attention and to see if there was anything she could, or could not, do. We’re now happy with what she has done.’

    Bizarre.

Do you think she could sort out our mental health legislation, the waste disposal fiasco and Zero-10 as well??

What about if we write and complain about Lyndon Trott – do you think she could get rid of him too?

In fact, she could set up a sort of Jimm-’ll-fix-it” type office at Buck Palace and sort out all of the world’s problems. It would make a fab replacement for Britain’s Got Talent too now that Simon Cowell’s losing interest…

This is a non story. Campaigners bother the Queen, the Queen says, this is nothing to do with me, send it to the Government Department who deal with these islanders.

Doesn’t mean at all that the Queen has developed a sudden healthy interest in animal welfare and wants her government to act. Doesn’t mean that the UK Government will do anything.

A lazy lobbying trick for a cheap headline.

i adore animals, but i am confused about the writing to the queen, when her own soldiers wear animal fur hats and she`s been asked to use something different instead of real fur and refused, when her own son was seen being cruel to one of his dogs , yet got away from rspca prosecution, and when the whole family enjoy`s the cruel sport of hunting! so can really see she`s the best person to ask!

Why don’t you all get off your backsides and do something/support something you believe in
-instead of slating what others do-sad ppl like you are quick to put others down that are trying to do good-yet you just sit moan and try to find fault…..now that’s BIZARRE
