GUERNSEY are the European Division Two champions after completing an unbeaten campaign against Norway yesterday.
Although unknown to the players and, indeed, many spectators, Stuart Le Prevost’s team were already champions before yesterday’s encounter due to having already beaten Germany, the only side who could catch them.
But they made sure the title was won in style with a routine 109-run win that was built on the back of Jeremy Frith’s second century of the tournament, a fine 109.
The Sarnians even survived a late batting collapse and a spirited effort from Norway’s middle order, but the home bowling was eventually too strong.
