Guernsey Yacht Club sailor claims a European crown

MARTIN BOYDE is a European sailing champion after a brilliant performance on the continent.
The Guernsey Yacht Club member won the Laser 4000 European Championship class, which is for high performance two-man dinghies, in Riva Del Garda in Italy recently.
The four-day competition took place on Lake Garda and consisted of 29 entries from throughout the host nation, France and the UK.
Boyde sailed with his crew member Toby Linnell, who is based in the UK, and they competed in 11 races, with their best eight results counting for the final standings.
