Fears for pupils’ safety as drivers ignore crossing

CHILDREN are being put at risk by cars ignoring a pedestrian crossing outside Forest and Le Rondin schools, claim the douzaine and Forest PTA.

Problems have been raised by Forest School about the crossing for several years, but the Environment Department has not changed its layout.
Currently, there is a zebra crossing, but before the development of Le Rondin across the road, lights were in place.
Now the douzaine has spoken out about its fears.

Voice for Victims is a campaign aimed at promoting the rights of those affected by child sexual abuse.
what an extraordinary (though par for the course)reaction by peter sirett, in today’s press, to another considered and calm request by the pta, parents and lollipop man, who witness, on a daily basis, the serious narrow squeaks outside the forest schools. once AGAIN, mr sirett has arrogantly dismissed the concerns of all those parties with his usual ‘there is nothin more we can do about this, so please belt up’ approach. what defensive, ‘can’t be bothered to try harder’ nonsense. in french towns and villages there are frequent road humps that slow the traffic temporarily as it moves through risky spots like school proximities which are near to main roads. because a significant number of selfish or reckless or plain stupid motorists are unwilling to slow down their busy lives for twenty seconds when driving past local primary schools, mr sirett must consider road humps. the parents of any child knocked down (and their supporters and advocates) will be at your door mr sirett if you are not man enough to do this simple thing. at present you are simply continuing to wash your hands of your responsibility.
