CHANNEL ISLANDS tennis is enjoying a very productive week.
Local tennis star Heather Watson
While Heather Watson has cruised through to the last eight of her latest tournament, the CI men’s team are pushing hard for promotion from Division Seven of the Aegon Summer County Cup.
The side comprising five Sarnians and three Jerseymen have been in dominant form all week and won their sub group with victories over Cumbria (8-1), the Isle of Man (9-0) and Staffordshire (6-3).
They are now in the play-offs for first to fourth places with promotion the big prize.
Meanwhile in Wrexham, rain could not prevent Watson taking her place in the quarter-finals of the Aegon GB Pro-Series.
