Second win for C-4

JOHN RICHARDSON and Matt Wood were the winners at last weekend’s stage of this year’s local eight-race powerboating series.

Taking place in St Peter Port, the Havelet race saw nine boats competing among the unusual surroundings of two cruise liners that were anchored just off the coast.

The race began with the fleet running between the two vessels and it was Dave Corbet who took the race’s early lead in his phantom 21.

But it was all change again on the second lap as Jacques and Pierre Vermeulen took the lead in their batboat C-96, in front of an impressive crowd at Havelet Bay, totalling around 200 people.
