Southampton invite Hamon to more trials
Saturday 24th July 2010, 2:29PM BST.
JAMES HAMON will face the toughest examination of his young football career yet as he travels for his second round of Southampton trials.
The 15-year-old St Martin’s goalkeeper, whose father Chris was a multiple Muratti keeper, first went away back in May to play for the League One club’s under-15 academy side, where he kept a clean sheet in a 4-0 win over Yeovil Town.
Although he had little to do that day for his shut-out, coaches were impressed enough to invite him back for a week of both training and matches, starting on Monday.
This time, he will be involved with the club’s under-16 academy side, after his recent birthday, and will train at Winchester College.
