Adam Jory leads Sarnian challenge

EVEN though he was leading the field as the Queen’s Prize final got under way at Bisley on Saturday afternoon, Nick Mace needed the shoot of his life to stay in front and take the coveted prize.

He was shoulder to shoulder, after all, with former Queen’s Prize winners such as Underwood, Barnett and Tremlett – with equal basic scores, Mace having a superior central V bullseye count.
So, it did not help when Mace dropped a point with his very first shot at 900 yards and then a further three, to finish 71 ex 75.
