England-US draw puts Randalls boss’s beer in the White House

SEEING US president Barack Obama drinking a bottle of Hobgoblin beer at last month’s G20 summit made Randalls managing director Ian Rogers a very happy man.

Before taking over Randalls in 2006, Mr Rogers used to own Wychwood Brewery in the town of Witney in the Cotswolds.

It was during his time there in the mid-1990s that he created the bottled beer, Hobgoblin.

    He first and foremost created this as a very fine cask ale though, the bottled version came much later.
