New foundation aims to help all charities

RESEARCH is to be carried out into how local charities could operate more effectively.

Newly-formed Guernsey Community Foundation, which was set up in April, has commissioned a report from a team at Bristol University – the same researchers who produced the Townsend Report, a survey of living standards and relative poverty in Guernsey.
The foundation’s chairman is businessman Stuart Falla, a former deputy chief minister. He said the research was intended to form a scientific insight into social inclusion in Guernsey, and how the charitable sector could improve opportunities for those on the fringes of society.
