Marathon man Merrien ends his month in the mountains

LEE MERRIEN today ends a month in the more rarefied atmosphere of the Font Romeu resort in the Pyrenees and drives into Barcelona ahead of his marathon challenge on Sunday.

Merrien is one of a six-man Great Britain team with a collective aim of a team medal and the Guernseyman has high hopes of a good performance after his extended training at the Aviva GB mountain camp, which has already produced success for the British with the one-two finish for Mo Farah and Chris Thompson in the 10,000m final.
