People flock to see the Royal Show

HUNDREDS of people visited Saumarez Park yesterday for the Royal Guernsey Horticultural and Agricultural Society’s annual show.

Its first show took place at Fairfield in June 1817 and at its biggest one, at Les Beaucamps in June 1927, more than 600 cattle were presented to the judges.

More than 60 cattle were on show yesterday including 38 cows, 20 heifers and five bulls.
