Co-op president queries presence of TCP boss in Leale’s Yard talks

TOWN Centre Partnership executive officer Jack Honeybill has denied that he was wrong to take part in talks that led Environment to seek a 20% reduction in the Leale’s Yard development.
And Mr Honeybill says that he did not vote on the Bridge development. The States’ rules of procedure say that anybody with a special interest, whether financial or not, should declare it and withdraw from the meeting on the matter concerned.
Deputy Honeybill said his connection with the Town Centre Partnership had been brought up at the start of the meeting. However, after taking advice from the department’s officers, it was decided he could continue.
Co-op president Peter Roffey (pictured) said it was subjective what a special interest constituted, but he was surprised Deputy Honeybill did not think his involvement with the TCP was.
