A MAN who died after being struck by a car on North Side has been described as friendly, thoughtful and ‘the best neighbour you could have’.
Edward Lee, 74, was knocked down on Friday afternoon, apparently as he tried to cross the road.
Jill Mathews, 27, has lived next door to Mr Lee on North Side for the last four years and said he would always make time for a chat. ‘When we moved in, there was no dividing line between the two gardens and we decided to get a low fence so we could still talk to him because he was such a lovely and friendly guy.’
Childminder Mrs Mathews said she was initially a little concerned about moving in next to an elderly man who might not like too much noise. ‘But he said, “don’t worry about the noise, I just love hearing children play”.’
