WORK by Guernsey Electricity on a popular walking and horse route has angered residents and visitors who now cannot use it.
Gypsy Lane, St Martin’s, is frequently used by dog walkers, horse riders and tourists but recently the track has been off limits to the public because GE has been digging trenches to reinforce its electricity network.
Area resident Graham Crocker, 63, an electrician, said he was angry that the work had been started right in the middle of the tourist season.
‘I have seen visitors walking up to get to the lane and then having to walk back down again,’ he said. ‘They really should have planned this better.’

Oh for crying out loud!! Quit bitching! The States are just working temporarily on the power cable aren’t they ? Anyone would think the lane is being closed for good or that there’s a hole being dug for the Nazi’s to march back in…..!!

They would moan louder if their electricity was cut off due to inadequate infrastructure….
