Youngsters wave bye to title hopes

THE Emerging Players saw their hopes of winning the CI League all but evaporate on a soggy Saturday.
The youngsters put up a brave fight and came within a whisker of defending a modest total in a rain-reduced game against Farmers-Caesareans at Port Soif, but former Jersey captain Meeku Patidar saw the visitors home with just a ball to spare.
All the drama came in the last few overs.
Having been bowled out for 126 in a match of 27 overs per side, the Emerging Players seemed set for defeat halfway through the reply with Patidar and Bisson well set.
