SOMETHING of the spirit of 2003 and the home Island Games will be revived on Saturday.

The first ever British League athletics match to be staged in the Channel Islands comes to Foote’s Lane and the Sportingbet Channel Islands AC will be keen to topple champions-elect Glasgow City with a team that features the cream of CI athletics.

Dale Garland, Lee Merrien, Tom Druce and Jersey’s outstanding GB junior, Zane Duquemin, are all included in a full-strength CI team in what promises to be the biggest and best one-day track and field meeting in the history of the sport locally.
