Cranes bill is set to top £10m.

st peter port cranesMAJOR work at St Peter Port harbour is expected to cost more than the £10m. initially earmarked for it.

The States last year gave the amber light to the money being spent on replacing two cranes, which will also require structural work on the jetty, as part of the capital prioritisation process.

Today is the second day of a meeting between interested parties on the best way to proceed with the project.

Harbour master Captain Peter Gill said that the £10m. figure was at 2007 prices and marine inflation had run at 7% since then.
