Vale Rec 0, Bels 2
THE possibility of Guernsey football’s top two going head-to-head in the Jeremie Cup remains after Bels continued their unbeaten start to the new season with victory over Vale Rec.

Fresh from a Martinez Cup success at the weekend, reigning league champions Bels eventually proved too much for a Rec side who did themselves great credit and do not look far off being a top side.

Indeed, the turning point of last night’s tie was an incredibly lucky strike at the end of a very poor first half at the Corbet Field.

Craig Farnham was the goalscorer for the second match in succession, but his half-volley was heading straight for Rec keeper Jody Bisson, until its deflection off Simon Shaw gave Bisson absolutely no chance and Bels a rather fortunate lead.
