Local students pip the English

GUERNSEY’S A-level students outdid their English counterparts in this year’s results.
The Education Department released a results breakdown yesterday which showed 99.3% of local students receiving grades A* to E compared with 97.6% across the Channel.
Eighty-three per cent of island A-level students received A* to C grades, while in England that was 75.4%.
The pass rate for level-three vocational courses was 95% and for Btec-level courses 98%.
