It’s down with the old and up with the controversial

WORK is finally under way on the controversial glass-fronted house at Portelet.
BAS Mooarc architect Jamie Falla said he was relieved that the project to replace Le Portelet cottage with a modern property had started.
He became involved in 2005, but the project soon faced objections from the parish douzaine, district deputies and local residents.
The plans became a symbol for a campaign against modern buildings in the island.
