Town seafront Sunday closure

RESTAURATEURS would like the Town seafront closed more often.

Sunday is the last of four Taste of Guernsey events during which the road will shut to traffic from La Tourgand to Quay Street.

The area has also been closed for Samba Sunday and Sport Sunday.

A spokesman for Culture and Leisure, which coordinates the traffic bans, said that they would happen only when there was an event: ‘We needed to have something going on,’ he said.

The department will meet in a few weeks’ time to discuss whether to repeat the closures next year.

So can someone from st peter port constables explain how talbles chairs and big plants on the street are OK but a few A boards are not.
Whilst on the subject how come the a boards in the acade are an obstruction however big heavy litter bins placed by the parish are not. Perhaps all the businesses should replace their A boards with bins with advertising on cleaner town problem solved.

What a waist of time, its a road not a prominade it must cost us tax payers a few quid for the states to put barriers up ect and it allways seems empty to me.
