THE Vale Rec Falcons trio of Garry Collins, Dan de la Mare and Matt Le Ber have qualified for next year’s British Isles Championships following their comfortable Tostevin Triples final win at the Corbet Field.
They beat the Saints combination of Todd Priaulx, Kris Bichard and Alan Gibson 21-11, who started very well collecting a double, single and double to lead 5-0.
A draw from skip Le Ber won his team a single on the next and his team were finally off the mark.
He was again holding a single on the next when Saints’ skip Gibson unluckily moved the jack and awarded four shots to his opponents, who were suddenly level. Falcons had to step up a gear or two, which they did and responded with scores of 5, 5, 1, 1, 1 and 2 to lead 20-5 after 11 ends.
