Dead man’s unfair dismissal claim will go before tribunal

Peter PhillipsA WIDOW will be given the chance to clear her husband’s name after he died before his unfair dismissal hearing could be concluded.

Peter Phillips (pictured) took the Medical Specialist Group to a tribunal after he was sacked over claims he had pornography on his computer.

Last month his widow, Heather, took the case back before a tribunal because she wanted to pursue the claim. The MSG argued that because Mr Phillips was no longer able to give his side of the story the case should not be heard.

However, the tribunal panel of Helen Martin, Andrew Vernon and George Jennings has decided the claim for unfair dismissal should be heard.
