RICH PAYNE made the trip over from Jersey to claim his second win in this summer’s Holeshot Downhill Series.
Talbot Valley was the venue for round three of the Guernsey Velo Club’s mountain bike series, with the course starting in the fields above the valley and following single-track paths down the hillside which included ‘bermed’ corners, a tricky bus-stop section, a table-top jump and a number of drops.
All the riders had the usual two hours of practice to get used to the course and to try and pick the fastest lines for their two timed runs to follow.
The juvenile category was first up to tackle the course in the timed runs and Thomas Godfrey continued his winning ways, taking first place with a time of1-15.48. Joe Collenette was second and Tom Palmer third.
