Rovers burglar knew where the cash was
Friday 27th August 2010, 2:30PM BST.

Rovers is one of four sporting clubs recently targeted by burglars and licensee and bar manager Bryony Nicholls, pictured with the smashed till, says the person who stole £900 knows the Port Soif set-up very well. (Picture by Steve Sarre, 1016061)
A BURGLAR who escaped with almost £900 from Rovers’ clubhouse is believed to have crawled underneath an alarm sensor to reach the cash.
And the targeted approach to the break-in suggests it might have been someone familiar with the club.
The Port Soif Lane building was secure at the time and its alarm system was switched on. But it failed to sound when the intruder entered. As well as the cash haul, alcohol was grabbed from the storeroom.
Licensee and bar manager Bryony Nicholls said the money, which was locked in a cupboard, was cash from fund-raising for the club.

Dont get me wrong – you are victims, but £900 in a cupboard & not a safe?? Really??

Time and time again we are warned about leaving cash on premises, and yet we still read of break ins and cash being stolen.
Going public about it and having a photo taken with the smashed till, unbelievable..
