Army of volunteers makes the park as clear as mud

KPMG and Kleinwort Benson staff were among the volunteers clearing up Saumarez Park yesterday.

AN ARMY of volunteers yesterday helped clean up a sodden Saumarez Park following a rain-lashed North Show.

Committee members, representatives from sponsor De Putron Fund Management and staff from Kleinwort Benson and KPMG all turned out to clear the site following the two-day event which culminated in the Battle of Flowers and floodlit parade on Thursday.

Show treasurer Stuart Wilson said that although the rain had made the fields and parks muddy, they would dry out in a couple of days. No long-term problems are expected.

‘The park and the car park field are not that damaged,’ he said.
