Border Agency stops and checks boaters

THE Guernsey Border Agency carried out stop checks on pleasure boats over the bank holiday weekend.
The joint operation with French Customs monitored the movement of pleasure craft around the islands and the coast of France.
The move was part of an ongoing commitment to combat potential drug trafficking and people-trafficking by private vessels.
The agency did not find any smuggling of drugs or people this weekend, but did notice some violations of the Customs clearance and regulation laws.
