A SILVER neck-chain could provide a vital link to some of the string of sex attacks in Town. It is believed the attacker in the weekend Forest Lane assault left behind the piece of jewellery.

The silver chain was discovered at the scene of Saturday morning’s incident.

Police are now asking people if they recognise the item of jewellery. ‘Who do you know who wears such an item of jewellery and is no longer doing so?’ said Chief Inspector Ruari Hardy. ‘Is there a link between a similar piece of jewellery and someone being in Town on Friday night or the early hours of Saturday morning? Do you know this man?’

People are being asked to contact the police if they have any suspicions or information. ‘Police will be able to safely rule out innocent persons by using forensic evidence,’ he said.

Anyone with any information should contact Guernsey Police’s incident room on 734520 or 734529.
