Heavy showers catch out some top drivers

SUMMER holidays and showers had a big influence on the results of round eight of the summer series.

With many of the regular competitors off the island for annual holidays, those drivers who took part in the Lince Salisbury-sponsored event made the most by gaining valuable championship points in the absence of their rivals.

However, heavy rain showers for most of the heats caught out some of the more experienced drivers, benefiting those further down the championship table.

Always a good driver in the wet, Minimax competitor Tia Harvey took the flag in the first and third heats with Daniel Galpin second in heat one and Connor Le Cras following her home in heat three.
