Dom a Dublin doubt
Tuesday 7th September 2010, 2:30PM BST.
DOM HEAUME is fighting a late fitness battle to be available for Saturday’s friendly against the Republic of Ireland amateur side.
The game, which will kick off at 3pm in the Frank Cook Stadium in Dublin, is likely to the final match of real significance before Guernsey travel to Croatia for the Uefa Regions Cup in a fortnight’s time.
Heaume (pictured) fell and twisted his knee in training last week and, as a result, played no part in St Martin’s 3-0 win over Jersey Scottish in the Wheway Cup.
Island coach Tony Vance admitted that the man who scored the decisive third goal in May’s National League System Cup final is touch and go for Saturday.
