POLICE surrounded an area of St Martin’s last night after reports of a man throwing knives at children.
Officers sealed off the area around Manor Stores at about 10.30pm. They closed Les Camps du Moulin from both directions and blocked off Old Mill Road as the incident unfolded.
A police spokesman said this morning that a 34-year-old man had been arrested in the St Martin’s area on suspicion of using threatening behaviour.
‘For the safety of the public the road was closed for a time. The man was arrested safely and nobody was injured,’ the spokesman said.
