But if tomorrow’s Burton Trophy men’s match is the last of the stand-alone type, it promises to be a close one.

Guernsey may have won nine of the 10 matches since the millennium and lead 30-15 overall, but with the Commonwealth Games just around the corner some of our top guns will either be taking it easier in the face of the visiting Jersey Spartan team or not competing at all.
