GUERNSEY’S players yesterday looked the part of England internationals as they departed for the first leg of their European trip that will eventually take them to Croatia in a fortnight’s time.

Tony Vance and his squad flew out to Dublin for their friendly against the Republic of Ireland amateur side tomorrow, ahead of the Uefa Regions Cup in Split.
They were all kitted out in made-to-measure FA suits and ties, with the side playing under the guise of England for the next four matches.

Excuse my ignorance, but why are the island football team wearing England kit? Why aren’t they wearing the Guernsey kit?
I’m not able to read the full story in the press so hopefully someone can explain the reasoning here.
Guernsey is NOT England so I can’t understand why they are wearing an England kit.
