Shaun McDonald, tenant of the Tea Room at Chouet, said he had been shocked by the lack of damage caused. At first he had not even realised there had been a break-in as the thieves had been so tidy.
‘They smashed the window at the back, but stacked the glass outside,’ he said. ‘They are obviously very polite thieves. I didn’t notice until I sat at a table nearby and felt a breeze.’
The intruders had even taken items off the window ledge – including a small crab pot, a glass vase and a fishing-reel – and stacked them carefully on an outside table to avoid any damage and noise.

Boddingtons and Enigma, if you’d been anywhere near the place recently you’d know the house next door was being rebuilt so it’s unlikely the owners were there.
But don’t let a complete lack of knowledge about a subject stop you having a go at someone eh!
