THE mother of missing Guernsey student Jonny Dorey has said his family are certain that he committed suicide.

Speaking to the Guernsey Press, Debbie Dorey revealed details about her son’s state of mind at the time of his disappearance a little more than six months ago.

She said that while he was apparently happy on the surface, it has now become clear that Jonny was suffering from severe depression. He managed to hide his struggles from everyone closest to him, but Mrs Dorey confirmed that significant evidence has been uncovered to suggest the student had taken his own life.
