ISLANDERS remembered the sacrifice of pilots during the Battle of Britain at a service yesterday.

It marked the 70th anniversary since the battle, and was held at the Town Church.

A parade from the White Rock to the church started at 9.45am, led by the Guernsey Concert Brass.

They were followed by representatives from 201 (Guernsey’s Own) Squadron, local cadets and standard bearers for several groups including the Girl Guides and St John Ambulance Service.
