Total business up for sale

The vast majority of Guernsey forecourts, thought to be around 13, are Total branded and sell the company’s fuel under contract but only one - Ville au Roi - is owned by Total.

FRENCH fuel supplier Total has put its Guernsey operation up for sale.

A Total UK spokesman said that the retail network, fuel distribution activities, the Guernsey, Jersey and Isle of Man operations, plus associated networks, were on the market.

‘Total periodically reviews its portfolio in line with its global strategy and, in this context, intends to focus its downstream operations in those countries where it enjoys a leading market position,’ she said.

‘As a consequence, Total has initiated a review of its UK downstream marketing business.’
