WORRYING signs for Vale Rec, a show of power from Saints.
Even with half-a-team of reserves the black-and-whites eased into the semi-finals of the Rawlinson Cup and a clash with Athletics, Vale ultimately rolling over meekly at a windy Track last night.
There is no secret about Saints’ current strength in depth but it is generally assumed Vale Rec are a team on the up and, defensively, very mean.
Perhaps it was driving drizzle they did not like, but on this showing Vale won’t be driving up the Division One table this season.
