A woman who, a tribunal heard, once introduced herself as ‘the office bitch’ claims she was unfairly fired from her job at an interiors company.

Rosie Henderson was employed by CI Ceramics as a saleswoman-designer in February 2007 on the recommendation of her husband, a co-director of the company. The firm sacked her in May this year.

At an employment tribunal at Les Cotils this week, she claimed unfair dismissal and sexual discrimination. But joint managing director and owner of the business John Litchfield said the firm had bent over backwards to help her – even though she had been rude to co-workers and to clients.

Representing CI Ceramics, Advocate Peter Ferbrache added: ‘Mrs Henderson was given enough rope to wrap around the Queen Mary but she did not take the time given to mend her ways.’

The hearing continues next week.
