India’s finest defeats Sarnian
Monday 20th September 2010, 2:29PM BST.
CHRIS SIMPSON got a taste of India in Manchester at the weekend and did not like it.
A fortnight before the Commonwealth Games in Delhi Simpson was knocked out of the British Grand Prix Championship by the 14th seed from India, Saurav Ghosal.
The 24-year-old Calcuttan, ranked 26 in the world, is India’s highest-ranked player of all time but the unseeded Simpson pushed him hard for 55 minutes before succumbing 11-4, 7-11, 14-12, 11-4.
