AN ANNUAL tribute event to a Guernsey schoolboy began yesterday when a football match in his memory was played at Delancey Park.

Callum Eborall, 11, was knocked down and killed by a motorbike as he crossed the road at Les Banques in May last year.

Sunday Soccer League sides The London House Dogs and Smugglers contested The Callum Eborall Memorial Trophy, in the first of what is planned as an annual event.

Callum’s father, Richard, the London House goalkeeper, was made captain for the day in his son’s memory. Callum and brother, Byron, 10, attended all of the team’s matches.
