The Legal 500 has placed Mourant Ozannes in the top tier for its commercial and banking work, much to the delight of Guernsey managing partner Advocate Rob Shepherd. (0777440)
GUERNSEY’S legal profession is strongest in the commercial and banking work it carries out, according to the 2010 edition of the Legal 500.
The highly-respected directory has ranked Carey Olsen, Mourant Ozannes and Ogier all in the top tier for their work in commercial and banking matters, while Babbe, Bedell Cristin and Collas Day all feature in the category’s second tier.
AO Hall made the top tier for its employment work.
It would also appear the island also has strength in commercial property matters, with Carey Olsen, Collas Day and Mourant Ozannes all in the top tier for that category, while in the field of dispute resolution the Legal 500 has highlighted seven Guernsey-based lawyers as leading individuals – more than in any other category looked at by the directory.
These seven were Mourant Ozanne’s Gordon Dawes, Peter Ferbrache and Jeremy Wessels, Ogier’s Simon Davies, Carey Olsen’s John Greenfield, AO Hall’s Alison Ozanne and Babbe’s Ian Swan.
