Guernsey could gain as tourism aids recovery

Tom VosaTOURISM can play a key role in the UK’s economic recovery while at the same time boosting visitor numbers in Guernsey, according to economist Tom Vosa.

The head of market economics at National Australia Bank gave that view while in the island to speak to clients of Clydesdale Bank International, the Guernsey operation of the National Australia Bank Group.

Mr Vosa (pictured), who is a regular commentator in the national media on economic trends, said he was confident the UK would avoid the threat of a double-dip recession and that parts of the economy sometimes overlooked, such as tourism, could play a pivotal part in the continued recovery.

‘Every day that passes I get more confident that a double-dip will not occur.’
