AFTER months of build-up Guernsey’s top footballers are looking forward to starting their UEFA Regions Cup campaign in Croatia.

The 18-man squad left the island yesterday to travel to Split where they will represent England in the preliminary round of the prestigious competition.

The team won the right to sport the three lions emblem on their shirts after victory in the FA National League System Cup in May.

‘We are all looking forward to it, I’m glad to finally be going,’ said centre back Tom Strawbridge.
