AFTER her brilliant second-round win Heather Watson was yesterday knocked out at the quarter final stage of the AEGON GB Pro-Series in Shrewsbury.

The 18-year-old played eighth seed Eva Birnarova of the Czech Republic who is ranked 188.

The Sarnian lost the first set 4-6 before coming back strongly to win the second 6-1.

She lost the decider 4-6.

However, Wednesday’s win over second seed Sabine Lisicki of Germany, who is ranked World No. 90, will have put her in good heart ahead of her next tournament in Delhi at the Commonwealth Games.
