GUERNSEY’S ‘man in Westminster’ arrived in the island yesterday for his first official visit since taking on the role.
Lord McNally was appointed Minister of State at the Ministry of Justice following May’s General Election and part of his role is responsibility for the UK’s relationship with the Crown Dependencies.
Lt-Governor Sir Fabian Malbon invited him to visit Guernsey, Alderney and Sark and the two-day trip is his first visit to any of the Crown Dependencies since his appointment.
He met Bailiff Sir Geoffrey Rowland before visiting Sark, where he met residents in the Island Hall followed by representatives of Chief Pleas.
