Team will go to Delhi
Friday 24th September 2010, 2:30PM BST.
GUERNSEY will take part in the Commonwealth Games.
Peter Sirett (pictured) , chairman of the Guernsey Commonwealth Games Association, said this morning that the team would depart for Delhi as originally planned.
His decision came after the team confirmed conditions in the athletes’ village were not as bad as first feared.
Deputy Sirett said that while there were still problems with the overall cleanliness of the apartments and there were health and safety issues both in the block and the surrounding area, the team ‘are satisfied the organising committee has taken the necessary steps to resolve all the matters of concern’.

@Le Andrew your pretty poor attempt at sarcasm suggests New Delhi and Delhi to be different places…it is my understanding that New Delhi is India’s capital city which is one of nine districts within the metropolis of Delhi. Thus travelling to Delhi is factually correct.
It’s also fair to say that there are many bigger issues to be considered on the subject than trying to catch the GP out
