GUERNSEY kept their dreams of European glory alive yesterday by drawing with home favourites Croatia in the Uefa Regions Cup.
The island team’s historic campaign in Europe representingEngland had a positive start as Tony Vance’s side hit back from a goal down to draw 1-1 with Dalmacija, the Croatian amateur champions.
Wearing their red strip with its three lions emblem, the players were watched by a crowd of around 100 in the impressive Dugopolje stadium, which has two stands flanking the pitch but nothing behind either goal.
And with half the crowd travelling fans from Guernsey, it was the English representatives who enjoyed the majority of the meagre vocal support.
